Source: Marvel Rivals on Steam (NetEase). The publisher also offers console editions, which have their own platform requirements. Valor suggests 32 GB RAM on shared multi-game school PCs; this is our guidance, not a publisher requirement.

Install, accounts and anti-cheat

  • Pick one route and stick to it: Steam, Epic Games Launcher or the NetEase Windows download. Do not install all three.
  • Confirm the student account can access the game through the route you chose, and test the update process.
  • The anti-cheat is NetEase Game Security. It is not Easy Anti-Cheat or Riot Vanguard - include the actual components in your school's endpoint-security review.
  • NetEase publishes guidance on Kernel DMA Protection and IOMMU settings if the client reports a firmware error. Follow the actual error and your device manufacturer's approved firmware process.

Network requirements

  • NetEase does not publish a full list of game server domains, IPs or ports. Its support material covers hardware only.
  • What to allow first: the storefront and its sign-in and update services. Steam installs should follow Valve's current published requirements; Epic installs should follow the Epic service list on the Rocket League or Fortnite page.
  • Storefront connectivity is not the same as match connectivity. The match servers and anti-cheat destinations still need to be tested and confirmed with NetEase.
  • Avoid assuming generic Steam ports are the Marvel Rivals match server ports, and do not reuse another game's UDP ranges.

Diagnostics with NetEase

  • The game folder contains a NetEase tool, CapturePro.exe. Its Network Adaptability Test covers login and match problems, and its Network Delay Test covers latency and the selected region or node.
  • The tool produces a results ZIP for support. Run it on one managed test device with IT's approval and only send it through an approved support channel.

Before your first lesson

  • Fresh install and update, sign in, let anti-cheat start, then run the Practice Range before a complete online custom or training session with the intended group.
  • Include party formation, the correct regional server and any approved voice, and repeat with all classroom PCs active.
  • A successful launch or a Practice Range session does not prove the school network is ready for a match.
